Sedalac is a synthetic disaccharide which is poorly absorbed. In the small intestine, Sedalac is not broken down by disaccharides and reaches the colon unchanged where it is degraded by saccharolytic bacteria into low molecular organic acids: acetic acid , formic acid, mainly lactic acid. Think about what foods trigger heartburn and try to avoid them; eat smaller, more frequent meals; try to lose weight if you are overweight and try to find ways to relax. HOW TO USE ESOFAG-D CAPSULE SRTake this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Esofag-D Capsule SR is to be taken empty stomach. HOW ESOFAG-D CAPSULE SR WORKSEsofag-D Capsule SR is a combination of two medicines: Domperidone and Esomeprazole. Domperidone is a prokinetic which works on the upper digestive tract to increase the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing the food to move more easily through the stomach. Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) which works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps in the relief of acid-related indigestion and heartburn. SAFETY ADVICE CAUTION Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Esofag-D Capsule SR. Please consult your doctor.  CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR Esofag-D Capsule SR may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Esomeprazole in Nexium tablets 40mg inhibits the functioning of the H+/K+-ATPase, which prevents acid secretion by blocking the source of acid production.
